Great Strides Walk for CF!

Last weekend we went on the Great Strides Walk for CF. We had the best time and really hope that we get invited to be part of Conner's Crew again next year.

Samantha even met her new boyfriend Mason. They kept hugging each other, it was the cutest thing I had ever seen.

San Geanero Feast

A few weekends ago our good friends John and Del Coupe invited us to go to the San Geanero Feast with them. They are big fans and could not stop talking about it. Needless to say we were very excited to tag along, and experience the fun!

Samantha and I went into the petting zoo and she had a blast. I was freaking out because she kept trying to stick her hand up the animals butts. After she got over that, she had a lot of fun chasing them around the pen. They even let her pet a baby chick, which I thought was crazy because I thought she would kill it with one squeeze.

Steve and John could not stop themselves from riding the bull. It was pretty funny watching them try to hold one. I would like to have the job of operating the mechanical bull one day. I think that would be the funniest job in the world. I don't think I would be able to control myself though.

We had a blast and can't wait for next year. Thanks for the invite Coupes!

Steve's 25th Birthday

Steve is now 25 years old!!!! Hooray for insurance discounts!!!!! We had a little get together with my family and his friends from the hood. Funnily enough all of his best friends from childhood now live here in Las Vegas and so whenever we get together it is like a blast from the past.

His favorite cake is the sprinkle cake with the Betty Crocker sprinkle chip icing. He requires it

for every occasion that calls for a cake. It took some major convincing to get a cake other than

sprinkle cake for our wedding. Sometimes, I still think he is a little disappointed about that. I was so excited because I got trick candles for his cake and they did not even work. I could not believe it. I was bummed.

Anyway, he recently took up archery and it has rapidly become one of his new passions. For his birthday he got all things archery. Including the top priority bow case that he has been dieing for since he got his bow in December.

Also, my Dad invited us over a few months ago for homemade ice cream, which is Steve's all time favorite treat. So my parents got Steve and awesome ice cream maker. Ever since his birthday he has been making ice cream and eating ridiculous amounts of it. I am waiting for him to come wining to me that he is sick to his stomach.

I am so excited about our new vacation spot in Utah! I look forward to a lot of family reunions, weekend getaways, and trips with friends.

It is on 10 acres and a great place for outdoor activities. I can't wait.

Last Wednesday my sister Ashley took her last discussion from the missionaries. She is now the president of her institute class, and very active in the Church. We are all so happy for her.

So yesterday I was sick and decided to go out and get a diet coke, because everyone knows that Diet Coke makes everyone feel better. Well on the way home I thought I hit a little/fat dog. I stopped and opened my door to check on the dog. It turns out I did not hit the dog, and it was right outside my door. I reached to see if the dog had a tag so I could call the owner and it jumped in my car!!!!!

So now I am in the middle of the road with a stray dog in my car. I tried to coax it out but no luck. So I open all the doors to my car and am running around my car trying to get this dog out. After about 10 minutes with no luck, I called my friend Kiley to see if we double team this dog it will get out of my car. Still with the two of us NO LUCK. Then our friend Lindsay comes over and the three of us can't get this dog out of my car. So Kiley's husband recommends that we try giving it some meat. Needless to say the expired deli meat did not work. Kiley's neighbor comes out and see this ridiculous sight and starts to help, and still NO LUCK.

Animal control comes to get the dog and has to use the choker thing to get this dog out of my car. While doing this the dog is screaming and peeing all over my car!!!!!!

Now I have pee all over my seats coated with long dog hair that seams to stick to my seats better than tape! I strongly dislike dogs now.

To all my friends and family, I beg you to talk me out of getting a dog the next time I want one.

Samantha is 1 year old!!!!!!!!!

Samantha turned one on December 11, 2008. We made a adult sized chocolate cake and let her have at it. Surprisingly she ate almost half of it and loved it. She has been screaming for sweets ever since.

Samantha is starting to discover so much and it is getting her into trouble. Check out the photo below. She was shocked when I caught her climbing on her bouncer. She is now obsessed with standing on it and trying to hang on the banister.

She is also addicted to chocolate thanks to Grandma. I made cookies for Steve's home teaching families and all she did all day was stare at them. I finally gave in and she got chocolate all over her face.

The best thing that she has been doing this past few weeks is sharing. She has been wanting to share all of her food with me. Needless to say I have eaten a lot of half eaten food. She really enjoys putting the snacks in her mouth then taking them out and offering them to me. I feel really bad about rejecting her offer so I end up eating really gross things.

Mid Terms

Steve has mid-terms this week and is a little nervous. We are very excited to go to Manteca for Thanksgiving and see the family again. It has been a long time since we have seen most of them and we look forward to introducing them to Samantha.

Samantha had a breakthrough this Sunday, and learned how to wave!!!!! Although she only did it during Sacrament meeting at Church. We tried to do the exact same thing after Sacrament meeting and Samantha is not doing it. She will stare at us and then clap after we wave, applauding us for our trick.

We are going to take Samantha to feed the ducks this weekend so stay tuned for pictures.

Long Time

So it has been forever since we have blogged, sorry everyone. We really do love you. We decided to start blogging on family nights from now on. We'll see how long that lasts. Steve wants to do an entire review of our lives so far, so this post will

be long. I hope you all enjoy.

First, we got married on August 19, 2006! It was a wonderful day despite the terrible man that cancelled my reception two weeks before our wedding day. I am still a little bitter if you can't tell. The cake was fantastic though!

Then for Father's Day 2007, I, the best wife in the UNIVERSE, got Steve an awesome present. His dream car.

In September of 2007 we bought a house! We have been in the house for a year now. We are just off the first Las Vegas exit coming from California, so there

is no excuse no to stop by. We love it and it has just enough room for our growing family and visitors.

After being an elephant for 9 months Samantha finally arrived. On December 11, 2007 Samantha Lynne Lloyd was born in Las Vegas.

In July we went to San Diego for a week. It was so much fun and Samantha had her first trip to the beach.

Steve has gotten really into sailing with my Dad when we go to San Diego, so we thought Samantha should join in on the fun!

Now we are just going to school and working and watching Samantha grow. Life is good.

Hello everyone, Whitney Lloyd here. I am new to blogging but my cousin in law tells me that this is the best way to keep in touch with family.

Anyway, we are doing well and Samantha is now 4 months old and thriving. She is smiling and scooting all over the house. Steve is still working at Atlantic and going to school. I am working at Chapel of the Flowers and taking care of Samantha. That is basically it in a nut shell.
